project overview
This interior design concept for a Ginori 1735 flagship store takes the brand's 2024 rebranding as its starting point, not its history alone, but the new personality that emerged from it: a heritage brand that is also playful, colorful, and very much alive. The result is a space that functions less like a store and more like a gallery you can buy from.

the challenge
Ginori 1735 carries nearly three centuries of Italian craft tradition. The risk in designing for a brand like this is defaulting to reverence, creating a space so deferential to the past that it loses the energy of the present. The brief pushed in the opposite direction: how do you honor the heritage while making the contemporary voice equally loud?

Solution
The floor plan itself is a conceptual move: the layout is derived from the Garofano motif, Ginori's most iconic pattern, translating a decorative element into an organizational logic that runs through the entire space. The store is structured as two distinct worlds connected by a single journey. The first is a white, minimal showroom. Products are composed museographically, asking the visitor to slow down and look. The second is an immersive blue volume, here the visitor moves into a fragrance lab where Ginori's scent line is discovered through smell before sight. Color does the work of transition, the shift from bone white to saturated blue marks the shift from observation to intimacy. The project was presented as a fully resolved concept including floor plan, axonometric, material board, and photorealistic renders.
